- The waters of Schroon Lake offer seven miles of sparkling blue excitement! Swimming, water skiing, canoeing and sailing are a few of the water sports available for visitors. Our lakes, ponds and streams are clean and stocked with Lake Trout, Bass, Pike and Salmon. Fishing is a year-round sport here – Schroon Lake hosts one of the largest ice fishing derbies in the Adirondack region!
- Pick from a number of “dry land” sports activities, from golfing at the Schroon Municipal Golf Course amid beautiful surroundings, to hiking any of the 46 Adirondack peaks (or countless other mountains), biking the rural back roads, or enjoying a few sets of tennis on any of the 8 public courts available.

- Saratoga Springs (1 Hour) - A variety of attractions make Saratoga Springs a popular year-round city. Take in a concert at the outdoor amphitheatre SPAC where you can see touring bands, the ballet or the orchestra. During the summer, watch thoroughbred race horses race at the one of America's most historical settings, The Saratoga Race Track. Saratoga Springs also features a charming and unique downtown. Take a walk and discover shops, boutiques and wonderful dining experiences.
- Lake George (15 minutes) - Explore America's Queen of Lakes on a boat cruise or take in all the shopping you could want with a wide array of outlet stores. Lake George has it all, which has made it a top summer resort town for decades.
- Lake Placid (1 Hour) - Just an hour north is the Olympic village of Lake Placid in the mountains of the Adirondacks. Take a day and shop at Main Street and see the all the Olympic sites: Whiteface Mountain, Skating Arena, Ski Jumping Complex , and the Bobsled Track where you can take a exciting ride.
- Whitewater River Rafting - Spend a day whitewater rafting or tubing on the Hudson River.
- Adirondack Phantoms Hockey (AHL), Glens Fall, NY - Catch rising professional hockey stars at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
- Fort Ticonderoga (20 minutes) a National Historic Landmark that brings alive American history from the French and Indian War and Revolutionary War periods of the 18th century. www.fort-ticonderoga.org

Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing
- Garnet Hill – 54 km of trails (set tracks and skating lanes)
- Cunningham’s Ski Barn – 25 km of trails (set tracks)
- Gore Mountain – 32 km of trails
- Warren County Trails (Warrensburg) – 16 km of trails
Snowmobiling
- Over 200 miles of trails which are maintained and patrolled by three local snowmobile clubs. There is no fee to use this trail system.
